It appears that Daniel O’Reilly, the comedian behind Dapper Laughs, is having a laugh.
Despite appearing on television claiming he had killed off the controversial comedy persona, it appears that Dapper Laughs is not dead after all. But we’re not sure who’s laughing.
Just three months after an apparently contrite O’Reilly appeared on BBC2’s Newsnight programme and claimed to be retiring Dapper, the character’s Twitter account has been resurrected with the words: “Hello Twitter…It’s been a while…be gentle!”
It appears Dapper still has a fanbase, as the post has been retweeted almost 300 times.
A petition to cancel Dapper's ITV show On the Pull garnered over 68,000 signatures last year, after footage emerged showing him making jokes about rape during a live show in London.
The surprise tweet comes after Dapper hinted at his return last December in a YouTube video entitled Merry Christmas.
The clip shows Dapper sent back to Earth for the rather ominous reason that his work "isn’t finished" yet.
