360 degree cameras to hit Bafta red carpet...controlled by you

Laura Whitmore will present the 2013 Bafta red carpet via 360 degree cameras

Film stars will be seen closer than ever before this Baftas thanks to 360 degree cameras installed on the red carpet.

Malfunctioning boob tape, unshaven armpits and VPL will be hard to disguise with the new technology. Viewers will be able to control the four 360 degree cameras from home, giving them “a totally unique and personalised view of the star-studded red carpet.”

The mobile network EE is behind the initiative, which will enable viewers to tune into the red carpet via the stream on EE’s Facebook page or the EE Film mobile app and choose their view of the stars.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here Now! Presenter Laura Whitmore will be hosting 360 degree interviews with celebrities from the red carpet. Viewers can put their questions to her by tweeting @thewhitmore or using the hashtag #EEBAFTAS.

She said: “I literally cannot wait to get onto that red carpet and to host the show. I've never done a 360 degree show before but I've been practicing with the technology and we're going to have lots of fun showing a side to the red carpet you'd never normally get to see. Roll on Sunday.”

The British Academy Film Awards are to be staged at The Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden on Sunday February 10, with live red carpet 360 degree streaming from 5pm to 7pm.
