The 30 second clip, which debuted on ABC in the US last night, also shows Michael Douglas in the laboratory playing Ant-Man’s scientist mentor Hank Pym.
The clip does not give much away but does show Douglas in the laboratory with Rudd, who is later seen gazing lovingly at his Ant-Man suit.
The behind-the-scenes footage offers fans a first look at the Marvel phase two movie, which is due to be released next summer.
The film will come two months after Marvel’s highly anticipated film Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Hayley Atwell, who starred in Captain America: The First Avenger, has reportedly been cast as Peggy Carter in the film.
Evangeline Lilly will play Pym’s daughter Hope Van Dyne, while Michael Pena, Corey Stoll and Vanessa Ross also star.
The film will be directed by Peyton Reed after Edgar Wright left to project in May due to creative differences with the studio.
Ant-Man will be released in the UK on 17 July 2015.
