BAFTAs 2017: Complete list of winners

The BAFTAs surprised by spreading out the love - denying La La Land its expected sweep by honouring more than 15 different winners

The BAFTA stage seemed to be set for another sweep from this year's major awards favourite, La La Land - yet the UK's own film celebration had some other ideas.

Though the BAFTAs are quite often known for diverting a little from the usual trends set by the Golden Globes or the various guild ceremonies, this year marked quite an usual diversity in the number of films being honoured.

La La Land only scooped up five awards over the course of the night; which saw the likes of Manchester by the Sea, Arrival, Fences, Lion, Jackie, Hacksaw Ridge, and Florence Foster Jenkins all win in various categories.

One notable absence which will enrage many film fans is that of La La Land's major contender over on the US awards circuit - Barry Jenkin's enthralling Moonlight. It may be a fluke, but awards commentators will, unfortunately, point to this snub as a sign Moonlight's chances at winning the Best Film Oscar are fast dwindling. Could the Academy Awards prove them wrong?
