Ben Affleck and Matt Damon 'in talks' to produce film about Fifa corruption scandal and Chuck Blazer

Ben Affleck is reportedly producing a film about the Fifa corruption scandal, with a focus on whistleblower Chuck Blazer.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Affleck will team up with Matt Damon to produce the film which is based on a still-unpublished book by Buzzfeed investigative journalist Ken Bensinger.

Warner Bros. won a bidding war for Houses of Deceit which chronicles the role of American Fifa executive Blazer, who agreed to go "undercover" for the FBI to help their investigation into widespread corruption in the organisation.

'Warrior' helmer Gavin O'Connor is attached to direct, following his work on Affleck's thriller The Accountant, and Anthony Tambakis is believed to be on board as scriptwriter.

70-year-old Blazer pleaded guilty to 10 charges in 2013, including bribery, money laundering and tax evasion.

Affleck's film will follow United Passions, the disastrous Fifa-produced biopic starring Tim Roth as Sepp Blatter which went onto become one of the lowest grossing films in US cinema history.
