Bill & Ted Face the Music: Fans urged to submit videos of themselves for chance to appear in movie
Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are reprising their roles in the franchise
Bill & Ted fans now have a chance to appear in the franchise’s next instalment.
A new contest unveiled on Tuesday urges people to film themselves playing music and/or dancing to a pre-recorded demo track.
They can then send their videos for consideration, in hopes of seeing it included in Bill & Ted Face the Music, a sequel planned for the summer.
The demo track has been posted online on a dedicated website.
“Film yourself, family, friends and even your pets rocking out!” the instructions read.
The deadline to submit videos is 20 May.
Participants are advised to respect safety measures – including social distancing precautions related to the coronavirus pandemic – while filming their clips.
They can use music instruments if they know how to play them. If not, they can simply pretend to play, as air guitar and dancing are accepted as part of the contest.
Videos can be filmed in landscape, portrait or square mode and should be kept to 30 seconds.
The contest is open to residents of the US and the UK.
Reeves and Winter confirmed in March last year that a new Bill & Ted film was in the works.
Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure came out in 1989, followed in 1991 by Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey.
Bill & Ted Face the Music is currently scheduled for release on 21 August 2020 in the US and in the UK.
