Birds Of Prey - Trailer 2

The Twitter embargo for new DC film Birds of Prey is up, which means the fan verdicts have officially rolled in.

Margot Robbie returns as Suicide Squad character Harley Quinn in the new film that’s been directed by Cathy Yan.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rosie Perez and Ewan McGregor also star in what is the eighth film of the DC Extended Universe, which includes Aquaman, Wonder Woman and Shazam.

The initial response has been extremely positive, with many praising the film for being fun and entertaining.

The Independent‘s film critic Clarisse Loughrey was a fan, writing: “Birds of Prey is so up my street it’s RIDICULOUS – fashionable, weirdo ladies breaking men’s shins & aggressively complimenting each other!! Yes please and thank you!!!”

Her full review will arrive on 5 February.

Screenqueenz editor Millicent Thomas called the film “a criminally fun celebration of sisterhood, with some of my favourite fight scenes in recent memory. I was grinning from ear to ear the entire thing.”

Forbes writer Scott Mendelson hailed the film as “a bonkers bananas crime comedy and a genuine party movie”.

Birds of Prey is released in UK cinemas on 7 February.
