The line-up for the 71st Cannes Film Festival has been announced, acclaimed directors Spike Lee, Jean-Luc Godard, and David Mitchell Roberts all having films in competition.
Thierry Fremaux, the artistic director behind the festival, revealed the details during a press conference in Paris.
Asgar Farhadi’s Spanish-language drama Everybody Knows - starring Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem - will open the festival on 8 May.
As previously announced, Ron Howard's Solo: A Star Wars Story will premiere at Cannes , over a week before reaching cinemas worldwide.
