Captain America Civil War: Spider-Man will be a much bigger part than expected

Anthony and Joe Russo's sprawling blockbuster may be tackling far more of the web slinger than fans had previously believed

Those who were blown away by Spidey's surprise appearance in a Captain America: Civil War trailer may be left wondering what percentage of his role we'd just witnessed. A quick cameo? Or part of a larger story arc for Tom Holland's Peter Parker/Spider-Man?

Thankfully, it turns out to be the latter. As the very first reviews and reactions have started to drip through (and they're very positive, worry not); fans have been eagerly drilling the lucky few who previewed the film, desperate for any small tidbits of information on the upcoming Marvel flick.

One of those questions, aimed at Screen Crush's Mike Sampson, queried as to how long Spider-Man would be getting onscreen; with the response a surprisingly high 10/20 split between Peter Parker and Spider-Man in full.

Though it's pure speculation for now, it doesn't seem unreasonable to assume directors Anthony and Joe Russo will use Spider-Man's time in the film to quickly introduce his origins; freeing the character up for a full, new adventure in his developing solo film. It would certainly seem to be the case if there's any truth to hints the film will be titled Spider-Man: Homecoming and will draw from the comic of the same name.

Captain America: Civil War hits UK cinemas 29 April; you can read everything we know so far about the film here.
