Crocodile Dundee 2 trailer: The Super Bowl ad is actually an ad for Australia tourism
There was still a chance, however, to sneak in a quick cameo from original Dundee, Paul Hogan
Not that this fact will likely disappoint anyone, but Crocodile Dundee 2 isn't real.
Weeks of teasers and trailers - star-studded with the likes of Hugh Jackman, Margot Robbie, Russell Crowe, Ruby Rose, Liam Hemsworth, Isla Fisher, Luke Bracey, and Jessica Mauboy - finally led to the truth at this year's Super Bowl.
An ad in which Chris Hemsworth took the apparent "Son of Dundee", Danny McBride, for a tour of Australia's truest delights - from the beaches to the wineries, seeing McBride pause and ask, "This isn't a movie?"
In fact, the whole charade was part of an ad campaign for Tourism Australia, though the final reveal did still manage to include a quick cameo from the original Dundee himself, Paul Hogan.
Not that the Super Bowl was lacking in actual film trailers: from the first spot for Solo: A Star Wars Story to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Avengers: Infinity War to the surprise-dropped Cloverfield Paradox.
