The Fate of the Furious Trailer

A brand new teaser for Fast and Furious 8 - brilliantly titled The Fate of the Furious in the US - was unveiled during this year's Super Bowl.

Production began on the latest film - the first of a final trilogy - this summer with Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Tyrese Gibson all returning for what is most likely going to be more of the entertaining same. New additions include Charlize Theron, Scott Eastwood and, yes, Helen Mirren.

Jason Statham is expected to reprise his role as British villain Deckard Shaw.

The official synopsis reads:

“Now that Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game - and the rest of the crew has been exonerated - the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman (Theron) seduces Dom into the world of crime he can’t seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before.”

New England Patriots earned a historic comeback to beat Atlanta Falcons at this year's Super Bowl. Other trailers glimpsed during the sporting event included Transformers: The Last Knight and a surprise look at the second season of hit Netflix series Stranger Things.

Fast & Furious 8 is directed by Straight Outta Compton's F. Gary Gray and will be released in the UK on 14 April.
