Considering the success of the Fyre Festival documentaries, it was only a matter of time before the infamous event got the Hollywood studio treatment.

The Lonely Island – consisting of Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone – and Seth Rogen are developing a film about a music festival gone “horribly wrong”.

However, the idea for the film came about way before Fyre Festival broke out in chaos in 2017.

While the incident was unfolding, Rogen tweeted: “This seems like a good time to mention the movie we are making with The Lonely Island about a music festival that goes HORRIBLY WRONG.”

The group responded: “For real, thinking about suing Fyre Festival for stealing our idea.”

Speaking to The Daily Beast, Taccone confirmed that the film remains in development: “I don’t want to divulge all the details but we’re figuring it out right now.

“You’ve seen the docs, right? It’s crazy. This is something that Akiva and Seth cooked up, and we’re figuring it all out right now.”

Taccone confirmed that he is, like the internet, a fan of Andy King, the man who was willing to “suck dick” to get Evian water to the festival.

“I was like, I would hire that dude for anything… Hire that dude!” he said. “That guy is a champion.”

King may not need the extra work, as the break-out star looks set to soon have his own TV show.
