Former Game of Thrones and Black Mirror star Oona Chaplin has been tapped to star in all four of James Cameron's Avatar sequels.

Chaplin, who played Talisa Stark, joins returning cast members Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver and Sam Worthington for the follow-ups which will hit cinemas from 2020.

The sequel's plots are still under wraps although, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Chaplin will play Varang, a strong and vibrant central character who spans the entire length of the instalments which Cameron has stated will “create a saga.”

Avatar was released in 2009 meaning the first sequel will arrive a whole decade later. All four films have already been written.

The film's release dates are as follows:

Avatar 2 - 18 December 2020

Avatar 3 - 17 December 2021

Avatar 4 - 20 December 2024

Avatar 5 - 19 December 2025

Chaplin, the granddaughter of Charlie Chaplin, was most recently seen in BBC series Taboo alongside Tom Hardy.
