General Zod 'has flippers for hands' in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, says Michael Shannon

Um, okay.

Sure, we’ve seen Superman and Batman defeat villains with regular hands time and time again, but how would they fair against an antagonist with flippers for hands?

This important question will be answered in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which Zod actor Michael Shannon has revealed will see a bizarre change for his character:

“I was in my costume, and I couldn’t use my fingers because in the sequel I have flippers instead of hands,” he told Vulture.

“So I had these wax flippers on my fingers, and I couldn’t open the door, and I could hear Zack [Snyder, the director] being like, ‘Where’s Shannon? Where the f**k is he?’ and the whole crew was standing around. I was like, knocking on the door with my flippers, ‘Let me out of here!’”

Okay, so Shannon/we are being a little disingenuous here - Zod is unlikely to become amphibious in the sequel, more likely is that Shannon was wearing some sort of motion capture mitts.

The slip could actually amount to a fairly sizeable spoiler, with fans suggesting it confirms the rumour that he is playing Doomsday (somehow spawned from Zod's corpse), a supervillain with bone claws for hands.

Earlier in the week, a fairly convincing fan theory circulated the internet regarding The Joker’s true identity in Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad’s shared universe.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens in cinemas on 25 March, 2016.
