With Doctor Strange’s cinema run gradually coming to an end, attention has turned towards Marvel’s next film, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Having received its first semi-trailer earlier this year, and with Vol. 1 being such a runaway success, expectations are predictably high.

Little is known about the film’s actual plot except Ego the Living Planet is Star Lord’s father (yes, a planet is somehow a ‘person’s’ father).

However, thanks to Sean Gunn - brother of director James Gunn, but who also plays Ravager and Yondu’s first mate Kraglin - we know pretty much how the sequel will start.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 - Trailer

"When the movie starts, it's only a couple of months after the first movie," he told Comicbook.com. "The Ravagers have not gone hard after Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) after he double-crossed them with the Infinity Stone.

"There's a little rumbling amongst the Ravagers, like, 'Where does Yondu's allegiance lay here? Is he going soft on Quill? So, the Ravagers have to make a decision of what they're gonna do about Yondu and I think Kraglin is a key part of that.”

As we know from various sneak peeks, Yondu - played by Michael Rooker - becomes one of the Guardians in Vol. 2, while a trailer shown at Comic Con earlier this year revealed Rocket and Yondu as the Ravager’s prisoners.

How this all happens remains to be seen: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 reaches cinemas 5 May 2017.
