Narnia fans can look forward to going on more adventures through the wardrobe with an upcoming film based on CS Lewis’s The Silver Chair.

The Chronicles of Narnia franchise has lain dormant since third movie The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was released in 2010 but is being rebooted to bring the fourth novel in the classic children’s book series to the silver screen.

Finding Neverland and The Life of Pi screenwriter David McGee is writing the script for The Silver Chair, which takes place years later as Eustace Scrubb (Will Poulter in the last film) and his classmate Jill battle to find King Caspian’s son Prince Rilian after he goes missing.

Previous Narnia films have included 2005’s The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe and 2008’s Prince Caspian, both of which proved box office hits with the original grossing $745 million worldwide. Liam Neeson voiced Aslan the lion while Tilda Swinton played the White Witch and James McAvoy starred as faun Mr Tumnus.

It remains unknown at this stage when production will commence on The Silver Chair, with a release date and casting also yet to be confirmed.
