New Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer shows the First Order’s mighty army

A new trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens arrives today, well, a new TV spot.

It’s mostly made up of footage you will have seen before, though it does open on a dramatic never before seen shot of the army of the First Order, which looks a little like Kim Jong un assembled his military in Siberia.

It’s just over four months until the sequel hits cinemas now, with the film still set for a 18 December release date.

Though that sweeping, CGI-soaked shot of the army suggests anything but, one of the lead actors Adam Driver recently suggested the film feels more like an indie movie.

'The experience was not unlike an indie movie, just with bigger budgets,' Esquire paraphrased him in a recent interview.

Driver added: "With JJ, it’s all about character and story, not special effects.

"And we still talk about character now. Whenever I’ve worked with great directors, it’s always that way. You’re constantly finding it. Things evolve and change even as you’re filming.”

The Force Awakens is sure to break box office records, with sequels and a spin-off called Rogue One centring around rebel fighter pilots attacking the Death Star already in the works.
