Will Smith and his son Jaden were the big ‘winners’ at the annual Golden Raspberry awards for the worst in film on Saturday night.

Jayden Smith, 15, took home the prize for worst actor, while his famous father was named worst supporting actor for their performances in sci-fi flop After Earth.

The pair also scooped worst screen combo - a big contrast to their last team up in 2006 for The Pursuit of Happyness, which earned the elder Smith an Academy Award nomination.

Described in the ceremony as being “stranded on Planet Nepotism”, speaking to the BBC, Razzies founder John Wilson added: “It's an old Hollywood traditional that somebody who is a star tries to make members of their family a star, and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.”

The other big winner on the night, which took place on the eve of the Oscars, was Movie 43, a sketch comedy film written by 19 different people and directed by 13. It was named worst film, screenplay, and director.

Despite featuring a number of big names including Halle Berry, Richard Gere, Hugh Jackman and Kate Winslet, the film was shredded by critics, with many calling it one of the worst films of all time.

Further winners were reality TV star Kim Kardashian, who was honoured with the worst supporting actress prize for her role in Tyler Perry's Temptation. Perry meanwhile won best actress for his in drag role in A Madea Christmas, which he also wrote and directed.

Disney’s epic flop Lone Ranger, starring Johnny Depp, rounded of the winners list, taking the prize for worst remake, rip-off or sequel.
