Kelly Osbourne is to play a flight attendant in the sequel to Sharknado 2: The Second One, it has been confirmed.

Set in the Big Apple, Andy Dick stars as a police officer, while Judah Friedlander, Judd Hirsch, Vivica A Fox and Sugar Ray singer Mark McGrath also feature on the cast list.

Hirsch has been signed to play a taxi driver, Friedlander will play Brian and McGrath and Fox will play Fin’s brother- in-law and old high school friend Skye respectively.

The sequel to the hit TV movie promises yet more fast-paced drama. A synopsis reads: “A freak weather system turns its deadly fury on New York City, unleashing a Sharknado on the population and its most cherished iconic sites.”

Only Fin, played by the returning Ian Ziering, and Tara Reid’s character April have a chance of saving New York from destruction.

Anthony C Ferrante will be directing, while original Sharknado writer Thunder Levin has penned the screenplay.

Last summer, the first Sharknado sparked a social media buzz for its dodgy special effects and equally excruciating acting. The movie ended with a memorable, gory scene involving the hero chain-sawing his way out of a shark.

Sharknado 2: The Second One is due to premiere on Syfy this coming July, with production scheduled to start next week.
