Solo: A Star Wars Story Star Wars spin-off movie about beloved troublemaker Han Solo – will reportedly premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
According to various trade reports, the Disney produced movie will debut on the 15 May, 10 days before being released worldwide on the 25 May.
Star Wars has a history at the Cannes Film Festical, George Lucas’s Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith both debuting at the competition in past years.
The three most recent Star Wars movies – The Force Awakens, Rogue One , and The Last Jedi – have all had premieres in LA, having had December release dates rather than May.
Solo has had a troubled production, directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller being fired midway through filming and Ron Howard being brought on as a replacement.
