Marvel comic reveals Chris Pratt’s Guardians of the Galaxy character Star-Lord is bisexual

‘It’s time to accept the truth,' character says

Marvel has revealed that Guardians of the Galaxy character Star-Lord is bisexual.

In a new instalment of the comic book series, titled “I Shall Make You a Star-Lord”, the character – played by Chris Pratt in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – is shown to be in a polyamorous relationship with a man and a woman.

The relationship begins after Star-Lord – whose real name is Peter Quill – arrives on a planet named Morinus.

While there, he ends up falling into a romantic relationship with two humanoids, Aradia and Mors, for 12 years.

At one stage in the adventure, which is written by Al Ewing, he tells the pair: “It's been over a decade. Time to accept the truth. Morinus is my home. You're my home.”

It is currently unknown whether the character’s bisexuality will be introduced to the Guardians of the Galaxy films, which are written and directed by James Gunn.

A third volume is currently in the works, but Pratt’s character’s next film appearance will be in Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder (2022).

Ahead of that, he’ll lead a Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas special, which will be released on Disney+ in time for Christmas Day in 2021.

Last year, Pratt defended Hillsong Church – which he attends – after Juno star Elliot Page (The Umbrella Academy) criticised it as “infamously anti-LGBTQ”.

Pratt responded on Instagram:  "It has recently been suggested that I belong to a church which 'hates a certain group of people' and is 'infamously anti-LGBTQ,’

"Nothing could be further from the truth. I go to a church that opens their doors to absolutely everyone.”
