While the focus remains very much on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with debate raging on over whether it's terrible/deeply OK; a new trailer for this year's alternate DC offering, Suicide Squad, has surfaced from overseas.

Admittedly, there's a large amount of recycled material here; with the first minute or so of the trailer following the same Bohemian Rhapsody-aided cut of the US trailer. But after that, there are some tantalising snippets of unseen material, particularly when it comes to the film's most menacing presence.

Following more effusive praise from director David Ayer, the new trailer pushes The Joker further towards the film's centre; with so many shots, of so many different outfits, suggesting the character may have a far more significant presence in the film than previously thought.

We're also getting a better look at Will Smith's Deadshot in action, a cybernetically-enhanced assassin with the best marksmanship of the group; with the actor's wry sense of humour hopefully adding some extra spark to the character.

Plus, some more shots of Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc crop up; with a glimpse of him ripping his shirt off conveniently displaying how his regressive atavism has resulted in reptilian-like, armoured skin. You can learn more about who's who in the gang here.

Suicide Squad arrives in UK cinemas on 5 August 2016.
