Suicide Squad would have been a hit with the critics if Marvel's Stan Lee had written it, says Stan Lee

At 93-years-old, Stan Lee still has a sharp sense of humour. The creator of the likes of Marvel’s Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk, Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and more was speaking at Fan Expo Canada when he commented on DC films.

During a Q&A session, one fan - inappropriately wearing a shirt featuring the Suicide Squad - asked the visionary: “How do you think DC can make a hit with critics?”

It’s a fair question; both Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad were torn apart by publications around the world while Marvel’s Avengers series has gone from strength to strength.

Lee, as he often does, had the perfect answer: "Let me write it.” Watch fan capturing footage of the moment below, starting at the 3:00 mark.

Funnily enough, Suicide Squad was written by director David Ayer, who - at the film’s premiere - told the audience “f**k Marvel,” later retracting his comment on Twitter.

Of course, the rivalry between Marvel and DC has been going on for decades, but it's nice to know both sides are game for poking fun at each other.

Meanwhile, Lee recently made headlines after speaking out about another of Marvel’s films, the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming, the superhero creator defending Zendaya being cast as Mary Jane Watson.
