The South By Southwest (SXSW) Film Conference and Festival will release three films screening at the nine-day event via video-on-demand, bringing the event into 40 million US homes.

The movies rolled out for SXSW, the film portion of which runs March 12-20, include Bryan Poyser's comedy Lovers of Hate, about a love triangle involving two estranged brothers.

Shane Meadows's mockumentary Le Donk & Scor-Zay-See follows a failed musician mentoring a rap prodigy.,

Emmett Malloy's rock documentary The White Stripes Under Great White Northern Lights, is a chronicle of the rock band's 2007 tour of Canada.

A partnership with IFC Films for the simultaneous release of movies-on-demand was also in place recently for the Sundance Film Festival as a means of promoting the festival, the films, and including the public in other cities in the event.
