Original Terminator stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton have reunited on the set of the next film in the franchise.

The actor posted a photo from the shoot in celebration of Hamilton's birthday alongside a throwback image taken during production of 1991 sequel Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

“Happy birthday to my dear friend Linda Hamilton. One of my favourite co-stars, a true badass, and a wonderful human being. I’m pumped to be back together again,” he wrote.

The rebooted franchise sees Hamilton return as Sarah Connor who'll join Mackenzie Davis and Natalia Reyes in the film from Deadpool director Tim Miller.

Hamilton last appeared as Connor in Judgement Day , the sequel to James Cameron's original 1984 classic. Her appearance heralds a new beginning for the franchise which has seen several reboots in the form of Terminator: Salvation (2009) and Terminator: Genisys (2015) which saw Schwarzenegger star opposite Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke.

The new film also marks the return of James Cameron to the series, acting now as a producer.

Plot details remain unknown, however, it's been revealed it'll follow on from Judgement Day.

It'll be released in UK cinemas in November 2019.
