Time to take centre stage, Psylocke.

In the battle for Super Bowl ad domination, X-Men: Apocalypse may have lacked the first-look ingenuity of Jason Bourne, but it still seemed determined to leave an impression on the game's audience.

Though the first trailer debuted back in December, this new TV spot boasts our first, substantial look at the highly-anticipated mutant, Olivia Munn's Psylocke. Fans of the comics have eagerly awaited confirmation of Psylocke's onscreen powers, and finally it's been revealed the character does make use of her famed psychic knife.

In the spot, we see a car flipped into the air, only to be briskly cut in half by Psylocke's knife; an incredible shot which will surely build even more wild anticipation for the character.

She forms one of villain Apocalypse's Four Horseman, alongside Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Archangel (Ben Hardy), and a disillusioned Magneto (Michael Fassbender); a group of mutants recruited to cleanse mankind and create a new world order over which Apocalypse may reign.

Elsewhere, there's not a ton of new footage to be dissected; though, we do Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique being choked by Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) himself. There's also quick shots of Professor X (James McAvoy) and Quicksilver (Evan Peters), alongside the younger versions of Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) and Cyclops (Tye Sheridan)

X: Men: Apocalypse hits UK theatres 19 May.
