The sequel to Nativity! is even more abysmal than its predecessor. This time, David Tennant is the luckless straight man, while Marc Wootton is back as the gurning nutjob who, in reality, wouldn't be allowed within 100 metres of a class of kids.

French-Canadian comedy about a slob (Patrick Huard) who learns that the deposits he made in a sperm bank 20 years ago have matured into the tidy sum of 533 children. It's thoughtful, sweet, and probably less annoying than the forthcoming Hollywood remake.

The House I Live In (108 mins)

Eugene Jarecki catalogues the failures of America's War on Drugs in this long, diffuse, but sometimes trenchant documentary. Its star turn is David Simon, the creator of The Wire, who sees the criminalisation of narcotics use as "a holocaust in slow motion".
