Larry David never really topped his first two Curb series, where his mystified mischief maker was at his most excruciating – the "beloved aunt" episode being a standout.
However, there are some outstanding moments of social suicide throughout the eight series – Larry declining to bring a gift to Ben Stiller's birthday party, the argument over who should pay for dinner with foul-mouthed Susie (Susie Essman) and refusing to take off his shoes at Porno Gil's dinner party. Pretty, pretty good.
