It's far better than the second, jarringly strident slice, but not as fun as the first Iron Man film. Robert Downey Jr continues to chew the scenery as the arrogant, super-smart Tony Stark, who this time is faced with a crazed (of course) scientist (played with some relish by Guy Pearce) and his gang of flaming fiends. They're hell-bent on snaring the president and Pepper Potts (played by Gwyneth Paltrow, who has proved effortlessly good in this franchise). A satisfying end.
