Amanda Hale's Red Queen is one of the few highlights in this underwhelming adaptation of Philippa Gregory's bestseller, set during the War of the Roses and focusing on the unfortunate Queen Elizabeth (Rebecca Ferguson).

The 10-part series is weak in almost every department, particularly script. Impressive hair all round, however.
