Julian Gilbey, whose previous efforts were the brutal and rather unpleasant Rise of the Footsoldier and Rollin' with the Nines, directs this effective and grisly British thriller.
Five mountaineers, including Melissa George's hard-nut, are tackling the Highlands when they unearth Anna, a six-year-old Eastern European girl who has been buried alive in a remote forest. She is, clearly, a kidnap victim and her discovery by these five innocents is the cue for a lot of hoarse-sounding heavies to turn up and shoot people. This po-faced feature, nicely photographed by Ali Asad, is slightly let down by its silly shoot-off finale (at a creepy Pagan festival), but it's always watchable.
