DVD: Made in Dagenham, For retail & rental (Paramount)
The trouble with this feelgood Brit-caper from the director of Calendar Girls is that it's based on a true story, but there isn't much in it that rings true.
It's set in 1968, when Ford's female employees went on strike for equal pay, but the setbacks and triumphs experienced by Sally Hawkins and co are Hollywood clichés. Like the Swinging Sixties period details, they seem to be lifted from other films rather than real life.
