A novelist (Paul Dano) starts writing about his dream woman, only for her (Zoe Kazan) to materialise in his apartment.

Scripted by Kazan, this quirky indie comedy touches lightly upon some intriguing ideas – from the dangers of idealising your partner to the adolescent sexism of so much male writing. But surprisingly, Kazan herself never manages makes the transition from living doll to flesh-and-blood individual we can care about. NB
