The true-ish story of some nerdy students who fall out over the website they're setting up, The Social Network should, by rights, be a minor indie drama, but instead it's a thrilling, touching, witty triumph – and the film to beat at this year's Oscars.
Aaron Sorkin's screenplay does a remarkable job of boiling down a byzantine legal dispute into a clash of personalities, and David Fincher's direction keeps things zipping along.
