George Isaac's debut feature does one or two things quite well – actually two, both of them chases – but offers little else in the way of excitement.
The cast is top-drawer: Toby Stephens as a high-end thief, Rufus Sewell as the head of an elite police unit, and Gabriel Byrne as a crime boss, all sharking around a contemporary London nicely shot by Howard Atherton.
Tight, laconic dialogue underscores a tale of revenge and double-crosses that wants to be edgy but never cuts deep enough, and the plot point stolen from LA Confidential (remember "Rollo Tommasi"?) is rather wasted in the event. It's classy-looking, but empty.
