Star Wars: BB-8 built out of Lego in amazing timelapse

Fans of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Lego, you're going to like this video.

Professional Lego builders from Bright Bricks combined their construction skills with thousands of the little toy bricks and created a life-size model of BB-8, the orange-and-white droid who accompanied Poe Dameron on his missions for The Resistance.

They documented the process in a timelapse video, which shows the robot coming to life for the UK’s premiere of the Star Wars’ franchise latest film, The Force Awakens, in December.

Apart from the little bricks, the team used steel circular tubes to create an invisible skeleton, which allowed them to achieve an impressive spherical shape and to attach the droid’s head to his body. Other plastic and metallic pieces were used to build the eyes and other features.

The final result was a life-size Lego-sculpture that, despite not really rolling, can manage to turn its head.
