Electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk are to headline this summer's Latitude Festival, alongside Bloc Party and Foals.

The German quartet will be performing with their 3D show - seen last month in London at a string of sell-out shows in London's Tate Modern gallery - when they headline the Suffolk event.

Kraftwerk were recently announced as being among the headliners for Scotland's T In The Park.

Also appearing at Latitude - staged at Henham Park, Southwold, and noted for its eclectic line-up - will be I Am Kloot, Cat Power, Maccabees and Mercury Prize winners Alt-J.

The event, from July 18 to 21, will feature Dylan Moran, Lee Nelson and Marcus Brigstocke among its comedy stars.

Performers from National Theatre Wales, Sadler's Wells and the Royal Exchange Theatre will also be on the bill.

Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy and writer Germaine Greer are among the literary figures who will be taking part in this year's event.

Other music acts include Calexico, Hot Chip, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the Mark Lanegan Band.

Melvin Benn, founder and creator of the festival which is now in its eighth year, said: "Latitude is now firmly established as the most artistically ambitious event in the UK summer calendar, with a line-up that goes from strength to strength each year."
