"Oh yeah, all right/ Take it easy, baby/ make it last all night."

It's been 20 years since the masterminds behind "American Girl" have played a major gig in the UK, so Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers performing on the Friday night at this year's Isle of Wight festival (22-24 June) is one of the most eagerly anticipated events this summer. Petty's sumptuous folk-rock, which includes the beautiful lament "The Waiting" and his signature tune "Free Fallin'", will nestle nicely next to Bruce Springsteen (who released the angry, urgent Wrecking Ball earlier this year), Pearl Jam and Noel Gallagher at a strong rock line-up for this year's Isle of Wight. However, if you're hankering for something new, then the festival also features folk-punk specialists Dry the River, smart New Romantics Spector and Lana Del Rey, the glamourpuss behind the delicious hit "Video Games" and album Born To Die.
