Jimi Hendrix's Valleys of Neptune, Sade's Soldier of Love, Plastic Beach by Gorillaz, and A Curious Thing by Amy Macdonald are among albums that hit multiple top ten lists on Amazon's international sites during the month of March.

In the UK, Amazon's top-selling album in March was Plastic Beach by Gorillaz. Tracks from that album have also dominated web singles charts since the album's release on March 8. New to the top ten are Brother by Boyzone, the boyband's first album since the death of bandmate Stephen Gately in 2009; A Curious Thing, the second album by Scottish singer/wongswriter Amy Macdonald; and I Speak Because I Can, by English singer/songwriter Laura Marling.

In the US, Valleys of Neptune, an album of previously unheard tracks by Jimi Hendrix, climbed into the number-one spot. Sade's Soldier of Love and Gorillaz's Plastic Beach also made the top ten. Among the other new albums are Broken Bells, a collaboration between The Shins' James Mercer and producer Danger Mouse; Scratch My Back, Peter Gabriel's album of covers that made the top ten in France and Germany in February; and the second album by indie folk duo She & Him, which features American actress Zooey Deschanel.

Scottish singer Amy Macdonald tops the German album chart, with A Curious Thing in the number-one spot and a limited deluxe edition of that album also hitting the top ten. Sade's Soldier of Love continues to be a top-seller. New albums include Sting in the Tail by German rock band Scorpions, which has sold more than 100 million albums during its 40-year career; Satellite by Lena Meyer-Mandrut, from the talent show Unser Star für Oslo; and Atemlos, the sixth studio album by German electronica artist Christopher Von Deylen under his Schiller project.

In France, the death of French singer/songwriter Jean Ferrat at age 79 has put two of his compilation albums at the top of the chart. Soldier of Love, Valleys of Neptune, and Plastic Beach all make the top ten. Other albums new in the top ten for the month of March are On Trace La Route by Christophe Maé, whose acoustic sound is influenced by Tracy Chapman and Jack Johnson, among others; and La Superbe, the fifth album by popular French singer/songwriter Benjamin Biolay.
