London trio FLAWES are releasing their new EP CTRL in April, and we're premiering it here today on The Independent.

The band made for one of 2015's most exciting debuts with "Don't Wait For Me" featuring a muscular bass and frontman Josh Curruthers' wonderful falsetto.

Line of Duty star Daniel Mays recently said he was a fan, citing London Grammar as a potential comparison.

Q&A with FLAWES

What have you been listening to recently?

We're listening to a lot of new artists such as Rosie Lowe, Honne & Lapsley at the moment and also Australian artists Jarryd James & Chet Faker. We actually keep a weekly Spotify playlist of what we are listening to called 'In Our Ears'. Check it out.

What do you have planned for summer 2016?

Hopefully playing as many festivals as we can (our first being a homecoming show at Live At Leeds on 30 April)

What was the first gig you ever played, and what’s been the best so far?

The first gig we ever played was in October last year at Hoxton Bar & Grill although technically we did play a secret warm up show a few days earlier in St Albans. There were literally 3 people in the audience including our manager and his girlfriend. Afterwards the sound engineer came up to us and said it was the best show he'd seen in 10 years of working at the venue.

The best show we have ever played would have to be when we supported Ella Eyre in November on her UK tour and at Manchester Albert Hall in particular. We had been the opening act for the whole tour and for whatever reason that Friday night the venue must have been 90% full by the time we went on. The crowd really responded and the atmosphere was amazing; we didn't want to leave the stage.
