Bataclan to re-open following Paris attacks: ‘We will not surrender’

The terrorist attack at the Bataclan killed 89 and injured 200 others, but the venue is refusing to let the tragic event beat it.

“It will reopen, no question about it,” co-manager Dominique Revert told Billboard. “Hearts will be heavy for a few months, a few years. But we will reopen. We will not surrender.”

A long list of big musicians have played at the venue, including Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Oasis, Sam Smith and Paramore.

“The Bataclan has always been for me a place of music, sharing and joy. I never would have imagined that it would become the place of such a tragedy,” David Guetta wrote on Facebook following the attack.

The Eagles of Death Metal, who were playing when terrorists opened fire, broke their silence on Facebook earlier in the week, vowing: “Although bonded in grief with the victims, the fans, the families, the citizens of Paris, and all those affected by terrorism, we are proud to stand together, with our new family, now united by a common goal of love and compassion.”
