Blues rockers The Black Keys have been forced to cancel their entire European tour.

Drummer Patrick Carney’s shoulder injury “needs time to heal” and all upcoming performances up until 10 March have been pulled.

All tickets are being refunded in full as efforts to reschedule affected dates on the Turn Blue World Tour were unsuccessful due to prior scheduled commitments and venue availability.

“We are very sorry to have to cancel our upcoming performances. Patrick needs time to heal,” a statement read. “We thank all of our fans for their support and we’re looking forward to getting back on the road.”

Gigs in Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France have been cancelled, as have the band’s six nationwide UK dates.

The tour is expected to resume in April, when The Black Keys will head to Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Spain, Greece, New York and Denmark.

A planned headline slot at the Isle of Wight Festival is still on track to take place, providing Carney is ready to perform again.
