Bruce Springsteen picks five favourite Springsteen songs

Even Bruce Springsteen has favourite Bruce Spingsteen songs.

The musician recently dropped into SiriusXM channel’s E Street radio, which plays songs written by Springsteen, including covers, as well as live versions and rare tracks all day, every day.

Last month, SiriusXM announced the channel was free to stream until 15 May.

In the hour-long segment, he reflected upon the time he’s been spent in lockdown, saying that he misses “walking along the promenade and beach boardwalk in Asbury Park” as well as “getting a hot dog” at a local New Jersey eatery.

He also revealed the song “Better Times Are Coming” by Kate and Anna McGarrigle has been helping him through the challenging time.

But you may be wondering which of his own songs Springsteen would pick if given the chance.

Well, in 2016, he did just this during an appearance on Stephen Colbert’s late night show.

“That’s a tough one,” Springsteen told the audience.

“I got to put ‘Born to Run’ up there. I guess for me, ‘The Rising’ is a big song. What do we play every night? We play ‘Thunder Road’ really regularly. ‘Nebraska,’ that was a good one.”

The last one Springsteen picked was Born to Run‘s “Jungleland” before changing it to “Racing in the Street”, which features on his 1978 album Darkness on the Edge of Town.
