Carl Barât has released details of the debut album from his new band The Jackals.

The band’s new album Let it Reign will be released on 16 February 2015 following a UK tour in November.

The Jackals have also unveiled a video for their debut single “Glory Days”, which was made in memory of the 306 British and Commonwealth soldiers shot for desertion during World War I.

Other war-themed titles on the album’s tracklist include “Victory Gin, “Summer in the Trenches” and “War On The Roses”.

The Jackals were recruited last year when Barât posted an advert for a drummer, bass player and rhythm guitarist on Facebook, which was filled by Jay Bone, Adam Claxton and Billy Tessio respectively.

The singer is also set to write a new Libertines album with Pete Doherty, which is due out next year, after a series of sell-out reunion gigs at London Hyde Park and Alexandra Palace.

Barât is also set to make his first film appearance in Paule Muret’s art house feature film For This Is My Body Out in May next year.

The singer will play a ‘vampiric’ rock star who feeds on young souls and The Jackals will play his band in the film.

“It’s about the relationship between a rock star and a groupie – it’s just this eternal, timeless relationship that has existed as long as rock’n’roll,” he said.
