Cassetteboy releases Boris Johnson Brexit mashup ‘Can’t Trust Me’

Cassetteboy have released a brand new mashup to the tune of MC Hammer’s “Can’t Touch This”, reworked to show Boris Johnson uttering the words “Can’t Trust Me”.

The 2 minute 14-second clip by the English electronic music and comedy duo opens to the sound of booing and cuts of the prime minister’s speeches dubbed together.

Lyrics include: “My Brexit is so hard/ Makes you say ‘Oh my word, what about my job security, sick pay and the economy?’/ These are the things you need to discuss/ When I say ‘Brexit won’t hurt you much’/ Remember the lies on the side of a bus/ I’m a guy you can’t trust.”

The video clip also highlights Johnson’s history of being sacked for lying, including from The Times for fabricating a quote in an article, and as shadow arts minister for allegedly lying about an extra-marital affair.

Cassetteboy rose to fame in 2009 with their mashup Cassetteboy vs The Bloody Apprentice, which featured dialogue from Alan Sugar.

More recent videos have included Cassetteboy vs Jeremy Hunt, in response to strike action by NHS junior doctors over contract changes by the former UK health secretary, and Gettin’ Piggy with It, in response to the David Cameron “Piggate” scandal.

Johnson has faced intense criticism for his handling of Brexit. Today (5 December) he was warned that he has “limited time” to avoid a no-deal Brexit if he wins the forthcoming general election.
