Chance the Rapper has revealed he has more trust in a Kanye West presidency than he does a Joe Biden presidency.

The US hitmaker made the comments in a Twitter discussion about West’s forthcoming presidential run, which he announced earlier this month.

Responding to West’s publishing of a new music video devoted to his late mother Donda, Chance tweeted: “And yall out here tryna convince me to vote for Biden. Smfh.”

When a follower wrote that “We are against Kanye running for president,” Chance replied: “Why tho? Is there a better choice?”

Pressed by many of his followers to expand on his pro-West statements and why he would hypothetically support him, Chance indicated that West’s proposed policies have intrigued him.

“Reparations. Prison Abolition. Universal Basic Housing. Education Reform. Universal Basic Income,” Chance wrote. “There’s more but ion work for folks so ill let him do his job. Just saying we been doing this thing the same way for a long time. Can a blck man get a chance?”

West has outlined an unclear handful of policies he wishes to explore if he goes through with his presidential run, indicating that he is “pro-life” and anti-vaccines. He has also alluded to amending the US constitution and introducing reparations, while explaining that he would run as either an independent or a Republican, but only if Donald Trump chooses not to run for a second term.

After more of Chance’s followers offered reasons why they would not support a West presidency, Chance wrote: “I finally got the answer now. I understand. Yall trust Biden more than yall trust Ye. I think I understand why, I just don’t feel the same way.”

He also suggested that West’s lack of past involvement in politics is appealing to him.

“Kanye West has zero blood on his hands, and to consistently compare the track record of a black entertainer to that of white career politicians and billionaires is silly,” he wrote. “Ye wants real change.”

Chance and West have collaborated on a number of tracks since 2013, including “Ultralight Beam” from West’s album The Life of Pablo.
