It takes a brave man to cover a Destiny’s Child song, but comeback king Craig David proved he had what it takes on Radio 1’s Live Lounge last week.

The RnB singer performed his awesome garage take of “Say My Name” on Friday, mashing up the 1999 hit with “Feed Em To The Lions” by Boy Better Know’s Solo 45.

David, 35, also treated listeners to a reworked rendition of his latest single with Sigala, “Ain’t Giving Up”.

He releases Following My Intuition, his first new album since 2010’s Signed, Sealed Delivered, on 30 September. The album features Blonde collaboration “Nothing Like This” and club favourite “When The Bassline Drops” with Big Narstie, while Lauren Faith and Kaytranda both feature as guests on “Got It Good”.

“I’m back in that 16-year-old kid mode, hungry, passionate and making music that I’m truly proud of,” David said. “I want to deliver the music that people have been asking for, for so long, following my intuition and coming from a great place.”

David has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide during the course of his long career, achieving 16 Top 10 hits and multi-platinum status in over 20 countries.
