Dancing With the Stars pro hits back at Kanye West diss on new album

After hearing that Kanye West criticised Dancing With the Stars on his new album, one of the US show’s professional dancers fired back by reminding the rapper his wife, Kim Kardashian West, once appeared on it.

Val Chmerkovskiy posted a story on his instagram profile that shows him listening to “Oh God”, a song from the record Jesus Is King, which West finally released on Friday.

The dancer looks confused as he hears the lyrics: “That’s why I charge the prices that I charge / I can’t be out here Dancing With the Stars / No, I cannot let my family starve.”

Chmerkovskiy then shows several images of Kardashian, who appeared on the dancing competition back in 2008.

“That new Ye album got me in my feelings,” he wrote as a caption, including the hashtag “shots fired."

In a second video, he joked: “Yo, Kanye, keep talking that smack about Dancing With the Stars.”

Kardashian was eliminated in the third week of the show’s seventh season. Her brother, Rob Kardashian, appeared on the show three years later.

Ahead of the release of Jesus Is King, West was interviewed by Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1, and proclaimed that he is “unquestionably, undoubtedly, the greatest human artist of all time".

He added: “It’s not even a question at this point. It’s just a fact.”
