Elton John has reportedly flown out to Las Vegas to write new songs for The Killers with Brandon Flowers.

The legendary singer will be helping the flamboyant frontman pen a new album for his band four years after the release of their fourth record, Battle Born.

Since then, Flowers dropped his second solo album The Desired Effect in 2015 but has otherwise remained out of the spotlight.

He recently told NME that he hopes to have new music out “at the end of 2016 maybe” but nothing has been confirmed so far, with Johns revelation the first we have heard of their upcoming writing session.

John is a longtime fan of The Killers and invited Flowers onto his Beats1 radio show Rocket Hour last November.

“When Brandon makes a record, whether for The Killers or his own, he comes and plays me the album,” he said. “Usually I’m very happy and excited to hear it and I usually play mine to him.”
