Lady Gaga wowed Frank Sinatra fans with her rendition of one of his most beloved hits, "New York, New York", at a tribute concert honouring what would have been his 100th birthday on 12 December.

Dressed in her own take on the iconic suit and hat, Gaga's performance showed a vibrancy that captures the true charm of Sinatra's legend, without sacrificing her own imitable stage presence. She's a performer, with her own background in jazz, who understands the showmanship which was so much a part of these iconic recordings; taking the chance to banter with her dancers in-between all the belting. It's a talent already put on display in her collaborations with Tony Bennett, having released an album of jazz standards together, Cheek to Cheek, following the warm reception to their take on "The Lady is a Tramp" for Bennett's Duets II album. In short, Gaga's a true class act.

The event, which aired on US network CBS, also saw performances from the likes of Celine Dion, Adam Levine, and Usher. That's on top of an appearance from Seth MacFarlane; yes, the creator of Family Guy. An unlikely candidate, perhaps, though the self-confessed fan of Sinatra's has already released three albums of big band-style music. And he's really got the pipes, too; rendering an impressively croon-worthy rendition of Sinatra's classic version of "Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered."
